Mark and Aura Pereira – August 2015 Prayer Letter

[Click here for printable PDF of this letter]

It is an honor to serve the Lord in Portugal. We pray for the day we can see a Gospel preaching church in every major town in this country. The Lord has been working. He is not done with Portugal. Here are some of the highlights of the month of August. Will you continue to pray for Portugal?

New Church Sign

Church Building Work:

  • We got new church signs.
  • The new door between the two sides was installed.
  • Light blocking film went on the front window (on what used to be the main door to the bulding).
  • A foosball table was kindly donated to us.
  • Aura and her mom are busy painting the nursery and kids classroom.

Discipleship Classes Continue:

We are excited to see people getting together to study the Word one-on-one. The new believers and prospective new members go over a series of lessons on foundational doctrines and receive encouragement regarding their walk with the Lord, prayer and daily Bible reading. We are planning to have baptisms next month. Will you pray that it would go well and these new believer’s testimonies would be greatly used to encourage and lead others to salvation?

Missions Trip Group from PA:

We had the visit from a group of teens and single adults from one of our supporting churches in PA. While they were here, this group from Mt. Zion Baptist Church was greatly used and was a blessing to the work in Portugal. The Lord also seemed to be working in their hearts and many gave testimonies of how this missions trip had changed perspectives. Some of the young people even shared how they were praying wether God wanted them to be missionaries. Pray that, if it is the will of God for them to be missionaries to Portugal, that the Lord would continue to guide and give wisdom. We need them to come. (If that is the will of God for you, we need you to come!) While here the group was a blessing in church services, helped with construction projects at the camp, and distributed several thousand pieces of Gospel literature, both in Castelo Branco and Covilhã. Please pray that the Lord would use those tracts for the salvation of souls.

Thank you for your love and support for the ministry in Portugal.

In His Service, Mark and Aura Pereira
