We are so thankful to announce that there is a new national pastor in the country of Portugal. Saturday we had the ordination council that lasted almost three hours. Bro. Tito was nervous but did a great job defending the 250 page thesis that he presented to complete his studies in our Bible Institute. The council unanimously recommended Bro. Tito to be ordained by Living Hope Baptist Church in Albufeira, Portugal.
Bro. Lenildo, who was ordained a year ago, moderated the council as pastor of Living Hope Baptist Church. Bro. Lenildo did a wonderful job leading the church is this important event. He told the church that it is his prayer that this would become a yearly event, as the church ordains more and more men to work in the needed field of Portugal.
On Sunday we had the ordination service where I had the privilege to preach. Present we had the three pastors that have been ordained directly under our ministry in the last three years. God is so good! Pastor Antonio Tiago Pereira, 78 years of age and with over 50 years of faithful ministry, led the church in praying for this new pastor. He is also Bro. Tito’s father.
Bro. Tito, along with his wife and three children, will now continue to lead the work of the new church plant in Castanheira do Ribatejo, just North of Lisbon. He is supported by a few of the churches in Portugal, but still looking for some temporary support as he plants this new church. If you would like to support him, or send a one time offering, you can do so through our sending church. Send this to Narragansett Bay Baptist Church, 1642 West Shore Road, Warwick, RI. You can also use the email pastor@ibev.pt to send a donation through PayPal. Either way, please indicate that the offering is for Bro. Tito.
Susan and I wish a long and successful time in their ministry. God bless them.
