Yesterday the church in Albufeira, Southern Portugal, had an important meeting to vote on having Bro. Lenildo Monteiro to be their new pastor. I have been the pastor of this church since 2004, so this was a big deal.
I have known Bro. Lenildo since 2005 and he studied directly under me for the last four years. He is a very dedicated man whose walk with the Lord and commitment to His will are known by all.
This frees us now to do the church planting work we believe God has called us to do.
Someone asked me yesterday what it felt like to no longer be the pastor of the church in Albufeira. I said, “I don’t know.” My attention was so much in the transition process and praying that the meeting would go well that I have not given much thought to that.
I praise the Lord for the maturity that the members of the church have shown through all this process. It all ended in an unanimous vote!
Next Sunday we will be there to see the good people of this church and we are looking forward to it.
So, I am no longer a pastor. I am just a missionary. Will you continue to pray that we will get to see many other churches in Portugal started and pastors trained?

Greetings Bro Pereira,
Just a note to inform you that we added you to our missions team last night. We will be supporting you for $100.00 starting in August.
May the Lord bless you and work for Him in Portugal.
Sincerely,
Pastor Michael Peslak
Dear Pr. Peslak,
Thank you so much for the trust. We are honored to partner with WOBC to reach Portugal with the Gospel. Let us know any specific prayer requests you might have. Feel free to contact any time.
In Christ.
Brother Mark,
Please do not say that you are JUST a missionary. The truth is that you are MUCH, MUCH more than just a missionary. God Bless you and Aura in your most ambitious goal of establishing 70 Baptist Churches in Portugal. Blessings and Love, John & Susan
You are very generous in your comments. It is by the grace of God that we are. To Him we owe everything.
